I now have the most beautiful lawn in the neighborhood. Your book and expertise gave me a good foundation on what and how to address certain issues. The most
important thing that can be learned by your book and knowledge is the cutting height of the grass and the use of leveling sand for patching. For problem areas
the soil "aerator" tool is a must for anyone who wants to have a beautiful lawn. Aeration and then leveling sand will repair just about any problem area. You and
your book helped immensely on giving me the great foundation to have a great lawn.

P.S. people actually knock on my front door to ask me what or who I use to have my lawn look like it does. Woo hoo.

I was very impressed by your book and could not put it down. I had given up on my lawn but now plan to try again. My so-called lawn is just weeds and a tough mat of Stolon. Before re-sodding, I was thinking I might have to vertical mow, or till, or sand, or any combination, etc. I would appreciate your advice. Thank you.

The book is great.  Very insightful and detailed for St.  Augustine grass.  The book is supported based on real field (yard) trials, no pun intended.  I would highly recommend this book to anyone who owns a yard of St. Augustine grass and cares to manage their investment in grass.  Almost all problems, as you indicated in your book, are design or aeration problems.  As I said last year aeration is the answer.  Thanks for the book and the email support.  Much success.

Maintaining your lawn can be as boring as watching grass grow. This book has completely changed the way I look at my lawn. Instead of dumping chemicals and pesticides and over-watering my lawn, this book has taught me to look at my yard and pay attention to the clues it's giving me. The text is easy to read and the illustrations are fantastic and fun to look at. I actually look forward to maintaining my lawn now!

The residents of Quail Ridge Country Club in Boynton Beach (750 homes and condos, two golf courses 150 acres of St. Augustine grass) were looking for ways to save money to combat the increasing costs facing most homeowner associations. Dick Stackhouse of Quail Ridge Country Club’s Landscape and Grounds committee called Bob Imbrigiotta, President of the Bulletproof Lawn Company to inquire about potential ways to save money and fight the weeds overtaking their lawns. Bob learned that QRCC historically watered their St. Augustine grass lawns daily throughout the year and mowed them weekly.

In the winter of 2002, a 17,000 ft2 test plot was set aside to demonstrate the power of the Bulletproof Lawn process. “During the 150 day test phase the results were significant, the test plot was watered only 4 times and mowed 4 times. In addition, we saw a massive die-off of 75% of the weeds plaguing this trial area yet no herbicides or other chemicals were used during this time period, significantly positive results” commented Dick Stackhouse, “If we to implement the Bulletproof Lawn process over the entire complex in conjunction with planting more drought tolerant flowers (perennials), we estimated that we would save about $3,000 per acre or $450,000 per year.”
