This is a picture of me and my dad fishing
behind our house in 1972. Little did I know that the things I
learned then would influence me to write the book
The Journey to a Bulletproof Lawn.

My story began in 1973
when, as a kid in Ft. Lauderdale, I helped my parents take car of
our lawn. Little did I know that observations made almost 30
years ago would provide the initial seeds for a three-year project
of watching grass grow! I'm going to share with you a series of
coincidences that helped me understand first hand the most
critical factors when growing St. Augustinegrass.
The three-year
journey lead me to read several books, articles and scientific
publications. It lead me to conversations with top scholars,
professors and academicians in the field of lawn care, soil
science, drainage and turf maintenance from universities across
the country. The knowledge gained was put to the test in my own
yard. "The Journey to a Bulletproof Lawn" is full of before and
after pictures that help illustrate the practical application of
academic principals.
Imagine having
a lawn that is naturally resistant to insects and weeds reducing
the need for herbicides and pesticides. Imagine if the same lawn
required minimal water, fewer mowings and less maintenance then
the one you currently have. You would save time, money and save
the environment while at the same time attain a beautiful lawn.
This book will help turn that imagination into a reality. |
